We danced

“You let me lead you.”

The music played.

“I truly need you.”

The poet said.

“Without you reading,

these words just sit.

I’d just be leading

inside a pit.”

“Instead we’re whirling.

The music flows.

Though I may be twirling

right on your toes!”

“We laughed about it.

You saw me try.

You didn’t doubt

my words should fly.”

“And so I thank you.

You took a chance.

You read my poems.

You joined my dance.”
